A FUN, PRACTICAL & ENGAGING WORKSHOP

International Concepts.
Stronger Connection.
Greater Versatility.

You've learned the steps. But are you truly mastering the movement? Whether you've been dancing Kizomba for a few months or several years, strong fundamentals are essential to becoming a confident, connected, and skilled dancer.

Through observations and feedback within the local dance community, we've identified several recurring technical challenges that can affect the quality of our dancing. This exclusive 2.5-hour Kizomba workshop is designed to address those challenges, strengthen essential foundations, and help dancers unlock greater confidence, control, and fluidity on the dance floor.

FOCUS AREAS

What We'll Focus On

We'll explore essential techniques and principles that contribute to better body positioning, smoother transitions, improved movement continuity, and more effective execution of dance combinations.

Through guided exercises, practical demonstrations, and focused instruction, participants will develop a deeper understanding of how their movements work together and how small technical improvements can significantly enhance their overall dancing experience.

OUR GOAL IS SIMPLE:

To help you move with greater confidence, improve the quality of your dancing, and establish stronger foundations for continued development.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who has already started learning Kizomba.

Whether you've been dancing for one month or over five years, this workshop offers an opportunity to revisit, refine, and strengthen the essential skills that shape your dancing.

Because experience in dancing alone doesn't guarantee good technique.

“It's not just about knowing more moves. It's about improving how you move.”

A Signature Workshop Experience

Sunset Social Practice

LEARN IT. APPLY IT. OWN IT.

Learning the technique is only the beginning. In addition to the technical training, we've included a "Sunset Social Practice" session, that takes your learning beyond the workshop and onto the dance floor.

Through guided social dancing, you'll apply what you've learned in a real dancing environment while receiving personalized guidance to improve your movement, connection, and confidence.

Guided Social Dancing

Put your newly learned techniques into practice in a real social dancing environment.

Personalized Instructor Feedback

Receive direct guidance and observations tailored to your individual dancing.

Real-Time Corrections

Identify areas for improvement and make meaningful adjustments as you dance.

Because learning the steps is only the beginning. Knowing how to use them is what makes the difference.

CURRICULUM INSIGHT

A Note About This Workshop

The techniques and teaching approach in this workshop are shaped by first-hand participation in workshops across the international Kizomba community, learning from some of the most respected and accomplished instructors in the field.

Those experiences, combined with ongoing mentorship, continued training, and teaching students across different styles of Kizomba, have helped create a focused learning experience designed to strengthen technique, improve movement quality, and support dancers in their continued development.

At KIZBB, we take the time to deepen our understanding before bringing new material to our students, because we believe quality instruction should never be rushed.

Have you ever considered what it takes to access specialised Kizomba instruction from some of the most respected instructors in the international dance community?

For many dancers, that experience involves:

  • International airfare — Travelling overseas to attend festivals and workshops.

  • Hotel accommodation — Covering the cost of staying abroad.

  • Festival passes — Purchasing access to international dance events.

  • Specialised workshops — Paying additional fees for focused instruction.

  • Large group classes — Learning alongside dozens, sometimes hundreds, of dancers, where opportunities for individual attention and feedback can be limited.

And after making that investment, there's another important consideration.

How much of what you've learned will you truly understand, retain, and be able to apply to your dancing?

NOW, CONSIDER THE ALTERNATIVE.

What if you could benefit from knowledge and techniques gained through international Kizomba training without leaving Barbados?

Beyond the Steps offers an opportunity to go beyond simply learning new moves and focus on the essential skills that influence the quality of your dancing.

Through focused instruction, practical exercises, and individual feedback, you'll have the opportunity to identify areas for improvement, strengthen your existing abilities, and develop a clearer understanding of what makes movement more fluid, controlled, and connected.

The difference? A more focused learning environment, where understanding and applying what you learn takes priority over simply adding more steps to your repertoire.

This is a level of international exposure and training that truly sets KIZBB apart in Barbados.
