Dancers enjoying Kizomba with real connection and quality movement
IS KIZBB FOR YOU?

More Than Participation.
Built for Progress.

A clear guide to who will benefit most from our training and philosophy.

KIZBB is for dancers who want a deeper understanding of the dance, stronger technique, greater adaptability, a clearer path towards real improvement — and the confidence and freedom to have the most fulfilling experience possible on the dance floor.

NOT EVERY DANCER IS LOOKING FOR THE SAME THING

People come to dance for different reasons.

Some want a fun social activity.

Some want to meet people, enjoy the atmosphere, take a few photos and simply have a good time.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

People enjoying the atmosphere and taking photos at a dance event

But KIZBB is built for something different.

We are for dancers who want a deeper understanding of the dance, stronger technique, greater adaptability, a clearer path toward real improvement — and the confidence and freedom to have the most fulfilling experience possible on the dance floor.

If your main goal is simply to socialise and enjoy the moment, there may be other options that suit you better.

If your main goal is to understand Kizomba more deeply, refine your technique and continue growing as a dancer, then KIZBB may be the right place for you.

KIZBB MAY BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF...
01

YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND THE DANCE, NOT JUST COPY IT

KIZBB does not focus on memorising combinations for the sake of getting through a class.

We want dancers to understand:

Why a movement works.

How connection changes it.

Where the timing comes from.

What the music is asking for.

How to adapt when the situation changes.

That understanding becomes the foundation for everything else.

02

YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT IMPROVING

You may already be dancing and feel that something is missing.

Perhaps your timing is inconsistent.

Perhaps your lead or follow does not feel clear.

Perhaps you know movements but struggle to put them together naturally.

Perhaps you have reached a point where repeating the same material is no longer creating meaningful progress.

KIZBB is designed for dancers who want to identify those gaps and work through them with greater intention.

03

YOU WANT TECHNIQUE THAT TRAVELS

We believe good training should prepare you for more than one room, one instructor or one local dance floor.

You should be able to dance with people who learned differently.

You should be able to adapt to different music.

You should be able to attend an international festival or social and still understand what is happening around you.

You do not need plans to travel the world for that to matter.

Learn in a way that remains useful wherever the dance takes you.

Expressive modern Kizomba movement
YOU WANT MORE FROM YOUR MOVEMENT

Keep Developing.

Some dancers are satisfied once they can comfortably complete a song.

Others want to keep developing.

More musical possibilities.

More control.

More body movement.

More modern expression.

A broader vocabulary.

More confidence in how you interpret the music.

KIZBB is particularly well suited to dancers who are interested in that continued evolution.

The goal is not to perform complicated movement simply because it looks impressive.

The goal is to develop enough skill and understanding to have more ways to express what you hear.

YOU VALUE HONEST FEEDBACK

KIZBB believes encouragement matters.

So does honesty.

We will recognise genuine progress and celebrate improvement when it is earned.

But we also believe a dancer cannot improve if areas that require work are continually ignored.

Our role is not to tell you everything is perfect when it is not.

Our role is to help you understand what is working, what needs attention and what you can do next.

That means our training works best for people who are open to constructive feedback, correction and refinement.

Not because criticism is the goal.

Progress is.

WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN “FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT”

That principle applies to our dancers.

And it applies equally to KIZBB as an organisation.

Confidence is valuable. But confidence without understanding eventually creates limitations.

At KIZBB, we would rather help you build something real.

Technique that holds up.

Movement you understand.

Confidence based on ability.

Progress you can actually feel.

And we hold ourselves to the same standard.

We do not believe in exaggerating achievements, sensationalising experiences or creating an image that is larger than the reality behind it.

What we say we have done, we should be able to show.

Our international training, instructors, events, experiences and development are part of our documented journey.

We believe our students should be able to ask questions.

They should be able to see where our knowledge comes from.

They should be able to understand the experiences that have shaped the training they are receiving.

And where we make claims about our development or accomplishments, those claims should be capable of being verified.

Transparency matters to us.

Because credibility should not depend on how impressive something sounds.

It should depend on whether it is true.

That same honesty carries into the classroom.

We will recognise genuine progress and celebrate improvement when it is earned.

But we will also tell you when something needs work.

We would rather help you build real confidence through genuine ability than create temporary confidence through unnecessary praise.

We do not fake progress.
We build it.

Kizomba instruction
THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS

A good instructor can explain.

A good instructor can demonstrate.

A good instructor can identify problems, offer corrections and create a clearer path forward.

But no instructor can practise for you.

No instructor can create commitment on your behalf.

And no instructor — regardless of their experience — can produce lasting improvement without your participation in the process.

Practise.

Repeat.

Listen.

Adjust.

Ask questions.

Accept correction.

Keep going.

Training creates opportunity.

Your commitment turns it into progress.

YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EVOLVING APPROACH

Instruction Should Evolve Too.

Dance does not stand still.

Music changes.

Movement changes.

Teaching evolves.

International communities continue to develop new ideas, new techniques and new ways of interpreting familiar foundations.

KIZBB believes instruction should evolve too.

That is why continued international training, private instruction, festivals and exposure to the wider Kizomba community remain important to us.

We do not want to teach the same material forever simply because it is familiar.

We want to continue learning so that our dancers continue receiving something relevant.

If our students are expected to evolve, we must evolve too.

KIZBB MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT FIT IF...

KIZBB may not be the ideal fit if your main priority is:

Simply having a casual social activity with little interest in technique.

Receiving praise without correction.

Learning movements without understanding how or why they work.

Avoiding practice outside the lesson itself.

Looking for the lowest-cost option regardless of the depth of instruction.

None of those choices are inherently wrong.

They simply represent a different goal.

And different goals require different environments.

WHY OUR APPROACH COSTS MORE

KIZBB is not positioned as the lowest-cost way to participate in dance.

That is intentional.

The reason is that the training we provide is built on a significant and continuing investment in our own development.

International travel.

Private tuition with experienced instructors.

Dance festivals and congresses.

Workshops and specialised training.

Flights and accommodation.

Continued exposure to evolving techniques and movement concepts.

Ongoing development of the KIZBB teaching approach.

Those experiences require a substantial investment of both time and money.

But they also allow us to bring back to Barbados knowledge, perspectives and training experiences that would otherwise require our students to travel internationally to access for themselves.

That creates a more distinctive training experience.

Our dancers benefit not only from the time they spend in a lesson, but from the training, travel, private instruction, international exposure and continued development that helped make that lesson possible.

If our students are expected to evolve, we must evolve too.

Our training therefore places greater emphasis on:

Individual attention.

Technical development.

Continued instructor education.

International exposure.

Modern movement concepts.

Structured progression.

Greater adaptability.

Deeper understanding.

That naturally creates a different type of training environment — and a different price point.

If someone simply wants an inexpensive social activity, paying for that additional depth may not make sense.

And that is perfectly fine.

But for someone genuinely invested in development, the value lies in what the training is designed to produce over time.

You are not simply paying for time in a class.

You are benefiting from the knowledge, experiences, continued education and development that make that class possible.

The price reflects the depth of the training.

And while quality instruction matters, price alone does not create progress.

The instructor still has to teach.

The student still has to practise.

The work still has to be done.

But when serious commitment is combined with high-quality instruction, the investment can continue paying dividends long after the individual lesson has ended.

That is the kind of value KIZBB is designed to provide.

WHO BENEFITS MOST FROM KIZBB?
01
CURIOUS

You want to understand, not simply imitate.

02
COACHABLE

You are open to correction and honest feedback.

03
COMMITTED

You understand that progress requires your participation.

04
AMBITIOUS

You want your dancing to continue developing rather than plateau.

05
ADAPTABLE

You want to feel comfortable with different partners, music and environments.

06
SERIOUS ABOUT QUALITY

Even if dance remains a hobby, you still want to learn it properly.

That last point is especially important.

You do not have to want to become a professional dancer.

You may simply want to dance because you enjoy it.

You may want to socialise.

You may want something enjoyable to do each week.

That is completely valid.

But enjoying yourself and learning properly are not mutually exclusive.

You can dance purely for fun and still care about developing good technique, understanding what you are doing and getting genuine value from the time and money you invest.

You simply have to care about doing what you choose to do well.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ADVANCED

The Mindset Matters More Than the Level.

Being serious about learning is not the same as already being good.

A beginner with the right mindset may be a much better fit for KIZBB than an experienced dancer who has no interest in correction or continued development.

You can arrive with very little experience.

What matters is what you are prepared to put into the journey.

We can help develop skill.

We cannot manufacture commitment.

A welcoming Kizomba dance environment

The question is not:

“How good are you?”

The more important question is:

How much do you want to understand?

Because KIZBB is not looking only for naturally talented dancers.

We are looking for people willing to learn.

People willing to practise.

People willing to be corrected.

People willing to remain curious.

People willing to evolve.

Kizomba — cinematic close

You do not need to be the best dancer in the room.

You simply need to care enough to keep becoming better.

If that sounds like you, KIZBB may be exactly where your next chapter begins.
